The Church has entered a new phase since the third millennium began in the year 2000.
- We have left the church age behind us and have entered the Kingdom age.
- We are now living in the midst of epochal changes.
To live on the cutting edge of the new things that God is doing today, our minds need a paradigm shift - new revelation and a new light concerning the Kingdom of God!
The Kingdom of God is the message of the Bible and should be our main message today!
The passion of Jesus wherever he went was his father’s Kingdom. We see that in Matthew 4:23, “Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the Jewish meeting places and preaching the good news about God's kingdom. He also healed every kind of disease and sickness” (Contemporary English version).
The word kingdom is named 120 times in the gospels (160 times in NT). This tells us something of the great importance of this theme in the Word of God.
Jesus’ first preaching was about the Kingdom of God. Listen to what he is saying: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
According to Jesus we must repent in order to experience the kingdom of God.
The word repent in the Greek does not only mean to leave our sins behind and receive forgiveness. The Greek word met-an-o-eh'-o which here is translated ”repent” means literally to have a change of mind or to think differently. In other words we need a paradigm shift, a new mind set, to think differently if the Kingdom of God is to be established in our lives and churches and in the city of San Antonio.
And to think differently about the Kingdom of God is to think that the Kingdom is for today, here and now! It is not only for the hereafter. Jesus said that the kingdom of God is at hand. And he said that 2000 years ago. And God’s Kingdom is still at hand today.
The question is when will the church understand that and begin to establish His kingdom.
The Church prays daily the Lords prayer in Matthew 6:10 “Come and set up your kingdom (Contemporary English version).
But what are we doing so that prayer can be answered?
We need to repent; we need to change our mindset when it comes to what God wants to do here in San Antonio. Yes, God wants people to be saved in our city, but the way this will happen in great numbers is when we work with Him to establish His kingdom today in San Antonio.
What is one of the most important steps towards this goal?
We as pastors and leaders need to come out from The Church mentality where our only focus is the local church. And we need to come into the kingdom mentality where our focus is on the kingdom of God in the city and the kingdom in the nation and the kingdom in the nations.
The vision many churches have had is much too small. We have been in the “fire insurance business” too long where our main concern is just to make sure people don’t go to hell. This is a worthy cause indeed! However, God does not just want to save people from hell. He wants to take over this world from the prince of darkness that is ruling it today. He wants to establish his kingdom here in this world in every segment of society. He wants to come with a complete new world order here on this earth.
Listen to what God is going to do very soon: Rev 11:15… when the seventh angel blew his trumpet, there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will rule forever and ever."
We are living in the last days and we are very near to the time when the Lord will come to take over this world and establish a new world order.
Let us see how God will bring this about.
Let me say from the beginning God will not use the angels to take over this world. God will use the Son of man and every one that is connected with him to take over this world. It is The Lord and his people that will war against the prince of this world. And we will conquer the enemy.
1Co 15:24-26 (Modern version) "Then after Christ has destroyed all powers and forces, the end will come, and he will give the kingdom to God the Father. Christ will rule until he puts all his enemies under his power and the last enemy he destroys will be death."
Let us see how the book of Daniel describes this take over.
Dan 2:34-35 "You watched until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image upon its feet which were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were broken to pieces together. And they became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. And the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth."
Note what is written here: "And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth."
This expression shows a principle that is found throughout God’s Word. When God begins a great work He always begins on a very small scale and then it grows and grows from that point.
We can see that principle in the creation of Adam and Eve. God did not create thousands of people at one time when He created mankind. He began by created two people. Later Jesus started a worldwide movement with only 12 men.
In Daniel 2 we see a small stone crushing the kingdom of this world and then we see how that small stone grows and fills the whole earth. And listen! God has already started that process to take over this world. It started on a small scaled in the 90’s.
In the 90’s four cities experienced transformation by the power of God. (The Sentinel Group, Transformation Videos) Today 350 additional cities have experienced transformation and even an entire nation, the Fiji Islands has been miraculously transformed by the power of the gospel. How has this transformation manifested itself? Massive conversions, healings, deliverances, miracles in nature, reconciliations, disappearance of crime, financial prosperity and every segment of society being brought under the Lordship of Christ. Even government authorities have publicly dedicated their regions of jurisdiction to the Lord Jesus Christ.
What has happened in the Fiji Islands and in the cities that have experienced transformation is described in Rev.12:10 “And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night."
Listen to what is written here: "Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers is cast down,"
The kingdom and the authority our God comes when the enemy is cast down. And that is key in order for the kingdom of God to be established in our city. In a few days we will continue this article and we will discuss what it will take to bring down the Enemy.
